Virtual Graduation Ceremony, Virtual Graduation Mass, Grad Clap Out

Graduation Mass – June 24th 12:20 

Our chaplaincy department is organizing a special Graduation Mass for our graduates. Gr. 12 teachers will be provided with a link to the virtual Graduation Mass and will view the mass with our grade 12 students during their afternoon class on June 24th.  Parents are welcome to watch the mass with their child(ren).  

Graduation Ceremony- June 29th 7pm

The Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be on June 29th at 7:00 pm.  In order to celebrate your child’s graduation and their achievements, parents/guardians will receive a link to a virtual video Graduation Ceremony for viewing on June 29th. The pre-recorded video Graduation Ceremony will follow the regular graduation components, including a photo of each graduate, school and community awards,  greetings from dignitaries, the principal and school valedictorians. After the official virtual graduation ceremony, there will be a special virtual presentation for our graduates.

Virtual Graduation Ceremony Notice 

To protect the privacy of all students,  the graduation video is intended to be accessible only for the graduating students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) and other family members (e.g. grandparents). Families, students and others viewing (i.e. grandparents) the event are not permitted to post or reproduce the virtual ceremony in any other public forum. 

This video graduation ceremony is in accordance with Section 169.1 of the Education Act, “to promote student achievement and well-being” and the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Graduation Clap Out and Graduation Bag Distribution- June 29th 9:00-2:50

On June 29th , we invite our Grade 12 graduates and parents to drive to the school for a drive-by Graduation Clap Out.  Each graduate will  receive a personal graduation gift bag which will include: OSSD Diploma, Graduation Composite photo, School Awards and Community Awards (if applicable), SHSM Red Seal Diploma (if applicable), Ontario Scholar Certificate (if applicable), Honour Roll Medal (if applicable), graduation gift, graduation lawn sign and the graduation program.

We have scheduled the drive by clap out and grad bag pickup from 9:00-2:50  Please follow the schedule below to come to the school, pick up your graduation bag, and take part in the clap out. 

We will be calling out each graduate by name as you drive and arrive at the front of the school.  In order to help out this process, we ask that you clearly print your child’s name on an 8×10 sheet of paper and tape it to the inside of your front windshield.

Staff will be outside the front of the school cheering on the graduates.  Please remain in your car and drive up to the front doors of the school, open your trunk of your car and a member of the school team will put the graduation bag in your trunk and you can then safely drive away.  There will be music, balloons and lots of excitement as we clap out the graduates while they remain in their cars and drive through our front parking lot.

Prior to arrival, please complete the covid self-assessment screening. Please do not attend the school if you are exhibiting any symptoms or have not passed the covid screening.
