This coming Wednesday, October 31st, will be a casual day. Students choosing to wear a costume are reminded of the following:
In order to ensure the safety and security of our school community, masks and replica weapons are not permitted. Costumes must be school appropriate and reflect the standards set out in the school code of conduct. Students are also reminded that in an effort to maintain a climate of respect, cultural appropriation is unacceptable. In other words, wearing clothes that reflects a culture, such as wearing items that are associated with being aboriginal, Chinese, Italian, are unacceptable. Students who choose costumes that are inconsistent with our school policies will be asked to change or be sent home. Students engaging in any type of behaviour that puts our community at risk will also be sent home. Thank you for making Cardinal Carter a safe and caring community.
